Biography – Bishop Vernon L. Spinks
Bishop Vernon Spinks (elevated to the office of bishop in 2020 by the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith) was installed as pastor of Praise Temple Apostolic Faith Church, Inc. in November 2001, upon the death of its founder, the late Pastor Marie D. Battle. As church membership grew beyond the state of North Carolina, Bishop Spinks founded a second Praise Temple Church located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
During his pastorate, Bishop Spinks carried the church forward, building on foundational spiritual teachings in worship, holiness, apostolic doctrine, love, and fellowship. Bishop Spinks, often referred to as “A Man with an Excellent Spirit,” has distinguished himself as a man full of compassion and love for the people of God with a servant’s heart. Truly the favor of God is upon him for such a time as this to advance God’s kingdom.
Bishop Spinks holds a degree in Accounting and Business. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a former letter carrier of the United States Postal Service, a position he held for over 29 years before devoting his life to full-time ministry. He is married to Evangelist Phillystine Cooper Spinks, and from this union, the Lord blessed them with six children and fourteen grandchildren.
